When I was younger I used to be interested in these books and they were fun to read。 They also have rhyming words and it's basically kind of like poetry。 There are other books like this one called, There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly。 When I was younger I used to be interested in these books and they were fun to read。 They also have rhyming words and it's basically kind of like poetry。 There are other books like this one called, There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly。 。。。more

I would personally give this book 3 stars, but The Children would give it 6 if they could, so。。。4 stars。Y'all, I read this book a good 20 times last week。 That is not an exaggeration, that is the exact number of times I used it for a readaloud。 I have it memorized now。 It's the Old Lady's world and I am just living in it。It went over really well every time, though, and requests were made for me to come back with other Old Lady tales in the future, so Colandro is definitely doing something right。 I would personally give this book 3 stars, but The Children would give it 6 if they could, so。。。4 stars。Y'all, I read this book a good 20 times last week。 That is not an exaggeration, that is the exact number of times I used it for a readaloud。 I have it memorized now。 It's the Old Lady's world and I am just living in it。It went over really well every time, though, and requests were made for me to come back with other Old Lady tales in the future, so Colandro is definitely doing something right。 。。。more

I'm not a fan of monopolizing on an original idea/tale the way they have with this and with "If You Give A Mouse a Cookie。" I'm not a fan of monopolizing on an original idea/tale the way they have with this and with "If You Give A Mouse a Cookie。" 。。。more

There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves by Lucille Colandro and Jared Lee is such a fun book for Fall! The silly illustrations and concept are guaranteed to keep a child's attention。 I highly recommend this book and will continue to read it in the years to come。 The repetition and rhyme encourages children to stay engaged and join in with the story。 I love this book!-Kristen There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves by Lucille Colandro and Jared Lee is such a fun book for Fall! I really enjoyed reading the book "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves" written by Lucille Colandro。 I thought the book was very charming and it was very simple and easy to read。 I also really enjoyed the illustrations。 I think that this is a book that children would love to have in a classroom and be able to just pick up and read。 I really enjoyed reading the book "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves" written by Lucille Colandro。 I thought the book was very charming and it was very simple and easy to read。 I also really enjoyed the illustrations。 I think that this is a book that children would love to have in a classroom and be able to just pick up and read。 。。。more

Good repetition。 Fun for Fall (sneezes a scarecrow at the end)。

For: nonsense/fall fans; readers looking for a book that builds off of itself。Possible red flags: silliness; gluttony。

I enjoyed this book。 A very cute story to introduce all the different aspects of Fall to young children。 Great props can be used as an interactive component as well。 My favorite part of this story was after the old lady swallowed everything, she sneezed and out came everything she swallowed forming a scarecrow。

Louise Sullivan

Very cute。 I had 3 and 4 year olds laughing hysterically!

This is a fun, fall book to teach children about rhymes and repetition and to read during the fall season。 This book can also teach children about the fall season in a funny and creative way。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This was one of the many great books of the series。 I love to read these books because they're so funny and non-predictable! I love how almost every book focuses on a holiday too! This book was about the same old lady who ate things such as a pumpkin, leaves, hay, etc。 to make a surprise at the end of the book which is for fall。 These books are great for observations too because of all of the different stuff going on in the book。 These are also good books to read and have students respond to usi This was one of the many great books of the series。 I love to read these books because they're so funny and non-predictable! Another cute version of the basic story。 This time the lady keeps swallowing things in fall to make a surprise later on。 There is always a nice twist at the end of this series。 Whimsical and colorful illustrations will keep kids laughing。 A great read-aloud book for younger children。 Highly recommended for Grades K-2。
